AI Metadata Remover is a small collection of free tools that strip hidden data out of the files you are about to share: EXIF and GPS in photos, recording details in videos, author and software fields in PDFs, and invisible characters in text. There are six tools in all, each on its own page, plus a read-only viewer for checking what a file carries before you clean it.

Nothing is uploaded. Every file is opened, read and rewritten inside your own browser tab — there is no server that receives your images or documents, and closing the tab clears the file from memory. You can confirm it yourself: drop a file in with your browser's network panel open and you will see no upload request.

Many online removers decode your file and re-save it, which quietly re-compresses the image, can shift colors and often changes the file size. These tools don't. They edit the file's structure directly and leave the actual content alone:

• Photos — the metadata segments (EXIF, XMP, C2PA, IPTC, comments) are cut out of the JPEG, PNG or WebP container while the compressed pixels and the ICC color profile are copied through byte-for-byte.
• Videos — the location, device and timestamp atoms in an MP4 or MOV are overwritten in place with empty padding, so the file stays exactly the same size and the video and audio streams are never re-encoded.
• PDFs — the document information fields and XMP stream are cleared without touching the pages, fonts or images.
• Text — zero-width characters, bidirectional controls and other invisible code points are stripped out; the words themselves are left unchanged.

The GPS-only remover is the deliberate exception to "remove everything": it zeroes just the location fields and keeps the rest of your EXIF, for when you want to share camera settings but not your address.

The point of these tools is narrow: remove metadata from files you have the right to handle, so an ordinary photo or PDF doesn't quietly carry your home address, device serials or account details when it goes to a stranger, a marketplace or a public forum.

They are not for hiding who made something or misleading anyone. Please don't use them to strip authorship and pass off someone else's work as your own, to evade a platform's AI-disclosure or provenance requirements, to defeat academic-integrity checks, or to remove copyright and rights-management information from files you don't own.
